Jindal varsity by September

Dehradun, Apr 15 : The private-run O P Jindal Global University in Haryana, scheduled to be operational from August-September, will have no management quota and capitation fee.

Vice-Chancellor C Raj Kumar told reporters here that Chief Justice of India (CJI) K G Balakrishnan would inaugurate the private sector university on August 7, with first session starting in September.

The centre being set up at Sonepat in Haryana will have no management quota and no capitation fee will be charged, he said.

Kumar said the university would run a Jindal Global Law School where three-year LLB and five-year BA LLB degree programmes would be introduced. It would have collaboration with Oxford and Harvard universities.

The Haryana Government had passed the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 2009 on January 27, paving way for the setting up of O P Jindal Global University. Industrialist Naveen Jindal has been appointed its first Chancellor, Kumar added.
