B.Tech Petroleum Engineering
Feb 28, 2010 : School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Raisan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382 007 has announced the admission schedule for the 4 Year B.Tech Programme in Petroleum Engineering, commencing in July 2010. The Programme is based on an integrated approach of relevant basic sciences and engineering sciences and emphasizes on the applications of these knowledge base to exploration, drilling, production, reservoir engineering and transportation of Oil & Gas.
Applicant should have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Those appearing in the qualifying examination (10 + 2 or equivalent - See http://www.pdpu.ac.in/spt/imp_instructions.html for the list of qualifying examinations) in 2010 for which results are not likely to be declared till the last date prescribed for submission of application forms are also eligible to apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to production of proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent), latest by 31st August 2010, failing which provisional admission will stand cancelled.
Applicant should have applied and should appear for All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) 2010 to be conducted by CBSE on 25th April 2010. Date of birth of the applicant should fall on or after 1st October 1985.Separate application has to be submitted to School of Petroleum Technology.
Admission to the Programme will be based on the All India Merit Rank in AIEEE 2010. Applicants short-listed based on this rank will be called for counselling at School of Petroleum Technology Campus and will be offered admission in order of their merit.
Sale of Application Form Commences on 23rd March, 2010 and will close on 5th May, 2010. The Application Form will be available at selected branches of Axis Bank (list to be provided at http://www.pdpu.ac.in/spt/announcement.html) on payment of Rs.1200/-.
Application can also be obtained from ‘B.Tech Admission 2010, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), School of Petroleum Technology, Raisan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382 007, by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 1200/- drawn in favour of ‘Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University’, payable at Ahmedabad, with name and complete mailing address of the applicant with phone number and e-mail id written at the back of the Demand Draft.
Last date for receipt of completed application forms at School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Raisan, Gandhinagar, Gujarat-382 007 in the envelope provided along with a photocopy of the AIEEE 2010 Admit Card is 8th May, 2010. Acknowledgement of Receipt of Application Form will be published in the website.
Details of the Fee Structure is given at http://www.pdpu.ac.in/spt/btech_fee.html An amount of Rs. 83,000/- is to be paid through a Demand Draft drawn in favour of ‘Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University’, payable at Ahmedabad, at the time of counseling. Subsequently, fees are charged semester-wise, at the registration of each semester.
There are 240 seats for the Programme of which 120 seats would be for applicants from Gujarat and 120 are for those from rest of India.Reservation will be applicable as per Government Norms.
