MBBS/BDS at Pravara Inst. of Med. Sciences, Loni

March 4, 2010 : Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni, Rahata Taluk, Ahmednagar District, Maharashtra -413736, has invited applications for the All India Common Entrance Test (PIMS-AICET-UG 2010) for selection of students to MBBS at Rural Medical College (125 seats) & the BDS course at Rural Dental College (100 seats), both run by Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni.

The Entrance Test Examination will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm on 1st May 2010 (Saturday) at Jammu, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Indore, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Kochi.

The entrance examination will be based on syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology of the qualifying examinations. The detailed syllabus is given in Annexure-F of the Information Brochure.

There will be 200 multiple choice questions, 50 each from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. Scratching, overwriting, tick-marking and multiple answers will be considered as wrong answers and no mark will be awarded.

Those belonging to general category who secure minimum 50% marks and those belonging to backward classes (SC/ST/OBC etc) who secure minimum 40% marks in PIMS - AICET - UG 2010 and satisfy the eligibility norms laid down by respective councils will be eligible for admission to MBBS/ BDS Courses.

Applicant must be Indian National, must have been born on or before 31st December 1993, must have passed qualifying examination-HSC (or equivalent), with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Those belonging to general category must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at qualifying examination. Those belonging to Backward Classes must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained minimum 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination. They must attach a copy of the caste and caste validity certificate along with the application form. There is no reservation for student belonging to backward class. This certificate is required in support of relaxation of eligibility criteria if such candidates get an admission on the basis of inter-se-merit of PIMS-AICET-UG 2010 but has scored less than 50% marks qualifying examinations.

Those who are appearing for qualifying examination [HSC (or equivalent)] in February/ March 2010 are eligible to apply subject to their fulfilling the eligibility condition at the time of counseling. Those who have appeared for and are expecting results of the respective final qualifying examinations can also appear for the Entrance Test. Application form fee is Rs.500/- and the Entrance Test Fee is Rs.1000/-.

Application can be downloaded from http://www.pravara.com/. In such cases, Demand Draft of Rs. 1200/- has to be enclosed with the filled application. Prospectus containing the Application form can be purchased from University Admissions office on payment of Rs. 500/-.

Filled in Application forms should reach ‘The Competent Authority, Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni, Rahata Taluk,  Ahmednagar District,  Maharashtra -413736’ by 5 pm on 12.4.2010 along with the Demand Draft towards Entrance Examination fees, to be drawn on any Nationalised Bank in favour of ‘Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences, Loni’, payable at Pune service Branch.

Hall Ticket will be distributed between 15.3.2010 and 15.4.2010. In case a candidate does not receive hall ticket by 25.4.2010, he/she should immediately contact the competent Authority PIMs-AICET-UG 2010 by e-mail dy.registrar@pmtpims.org

Results will be announced on 3rd June 2010 and will be available at www.pravara.com

Counseling will be held from 22nd June 2010 to 25th June 2010. Classes commence on 2nd August 2010.
