Amrita Medical Entrance on May 22

March 09, 2010 : Applications have been invited for the Amrita Entrance Examination- Medical 2010 for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.SC Nursing/B.Sc Respiratory Therapy/B.Pharm/B.Sc MRT courses Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi under the Amrita Viswa Vidya Peetam.

For admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS Courses, applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent in the first attempt, with the last two years of such study including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English and should have obtained not less than 60% marks in aggregate for Biology, Chemistry and Physics together. Applicant should complete 17 years of age but should not exceed 23 years of age as on 31.12.2010.

For admission to B.Sc Nursing, eligibility is the same as that fixed for MBBS/BDS/BAMS. Applicant should also have secured 50% marks in English.

For admission to B.Sc Respiratory Therapy, applicant should have a pass in Plus Two with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Natural Sciences.

For admission to B.Pharm, Applicant should have a pass in Plus Two with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Mathematics/Bio Technology/Computer Science in place of Biology).

For admission to B.Sc MRT, applicant should have a first class in Plus Two with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Those who have passed their Higher Secondary Examination with a Syllabus other than CBSE or any Indian State Syllabus, should produce an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), AIU House, 16 Comrade Indrajith Gupta MArg (Kotla Marg), New Delhi- 110002.

Those who appear for the qualifying examination in March / April 2010 can also apply. Sale of Applications/Online submission of application for the Amrita Entrance Examination- Medical 2010 will commence on March 10, 2010.

Applications and Prospectus can be obtained in person from select branches of Dhanalekshmi Bank Limited/South Indian Bank Limited/Federal Bank Limited on payment of Rs.1250/- for MBBS/BDS/BAMS and for Rs.600/- for other courses. Application and Prospectus can be obtained by Post from ‘The Admissions Coordinator, Office of Admissions, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, AIMS- Ponekkara (PO), Kochi-682041’ by sending a request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.1320/- for MBBS/BDS/BAMS and Rs.670/- for other Courses, drawn in favour of ‘Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetahm’, payable at Kochi.

Application and Prospectus can be downloaded from www.amrita.edu and submitted along with a DD for Rs.1320/- for MBBS/BDS/BAMS and Rs.670/- for other Courses to ‘The Admissions Coordinator, Office of Admissions, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, AIMS- Ponekkara (PO), Kochi-682041’. Application can also be submitted online at www.aims.amrita.edu Sale of Application closes on May 3rd.  The last date for receipt of filled applications is 8th May, 2010.

The Entrance Examination for admission to MBBS/BDS/BAMS will be held from 9 am to 12 noon on May 22, 2010 (Saturday) at New Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Amritapuri(Kollam) and Thiruvananthapuram.

The Entrance Examination for admission to B.SC Nursing/ B.Pharm will be from 2 pm to 4 pm and that for B.Sc Respiratory Therapy/B.Sc MRT courses will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on May 22, 2010 (Saturday) at Amritapuri (Kollam), Coimbatore, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.
