Round 2 Counselling from July 27

June 16, 2010: The second round of UG Counselling under 15% All India Quota 2010 for MBBS/BDS seats in participating institutions will commence on 27th July, 2010 and will continue till 12th August 2010.

Counseling will be held by personal appearance through Video-Conferencing with the main counseling venue at New Delhi and other venues being Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Counseling venue will not be changed in second round of counseling. Details can be had in the Brochure available at http://mohfw.nic.in/medical_counselling.html  

Counselling will be held in two sessions with the morning session from 9 am to 1 pm and the afternoon session from 2 pm to 6 pm. Candidates are to be present at the venue on the commencement of allotment by personal appearance mentioned against their rank, which would be either 9 am or 2 pm as the case may be.

Counseling will be held as per the Category Rank (UR/SC/ST/PH) only. All OBC candidates should report for counseling as per their UR Category rank only. Those who are eligible only for OBC seats will not have any claim for rest of the seats.

Those candidates called for 1st round Counselling and who were absent or rejected or not joined or resigned after joining the seat allotted in the 1st round of Counseling will not be eligible for reallocation of the seats in the 2nd Round of Counseling.

Second round of counselling for re-allocation for the candidates with Category Rank Nos UR-1 to UR-1518, SC-1 to SC-294, ST-1 to ST-132, URPH-1 to URPH-33, SCPH-1 and STPH-1 will be held as they have appeared in 1st round of counseling. Interested candidates can change or retain their previous allotted college. There is no provision to surrender the previous allotted seats before the counseling committee.

SC/ST candidates from SC-295 and ST-133 onwards should report, two counseling days in advance of their schedule date of counseling but not before 02.08.2010. Advance reporting up to SC-294, ST-132 and PH Candidates are not required as their counseling will be done as they appeared in the 1st Round of counseling. These candidates reporting in advance may or may not get seat allotted on the same day. If they do not get seats allotted on the same day, they will be allotted seats on the following day or dates or as mentioned in the schedule. Hence, they should make their own arrangements to stay for at least for 2-3 days in the city of counseling venue.

If SC, ST and PH candidates fail to report in advance, he/she will be marked absent and will not be considered for the counseling.

Document to be verified at the time of counseling: (a) For Re-allocation (Candidates from Category Rank No. UR-1 to UR-1518, SC-1 to SC-294, ST 1 to ST-132, URPH-1 to URPH-33, SCPH-1&2, STPH-1): (i) Admission Slip (ii) Fee Receipts in-original (iii) UNDERTAKING Proforma printed as Appendix-IV of the Prospectus, duly signed by the Principal/Dean of the admitted college along with a photocopy of Admit Card and rank letter, duly attested by a Gazetted Officer. Candidates without Original Undertaking Proforma signed before 20.07.2010 for re-allocation will not be allowed in any case.

(b) For Fresh Candidates (Candidates from Category Rank No.UR-1519 toUR-3760, SC-295 to SC-729, ST-133 to ST-159): As mentioned at Para (e) under sub-heading ‘ALLOTMENT OF SEATS BY PERSONAL APPEARANCE (COUNSELING)’ of the Prospectus. Those without original certificates will not be allowed to participate in the counseling for fresh allotment. Candidates who have taken admission through streams other than All India Quota and who have deposited their original certificates with the Institutes/Universities will not be allowed to participate in counseling in any case.

No authorization is allowed to appear for counseling until and unless, such candidates fulfill the criteria as mentioned in Para 9(h) of the AIPMT 2010 Prospectus. Counseling will continue till the availability of MBBS/BDS seats.

Candidates with UR rank up to 3760 have been called for 2nd round of counselling. In the SC category, it goes up to SC-769 and in ST, it goes up to ST-159.

At the closing of 1st round counselling on 25th June, 2010, a total of 757 were vacant under All India Quota of which 555 were for MBBS and 202 were for BDS. Of the 555 MBBS seats left, 59 are in Assam, 3 in Bihar, 13 in Chathisgarh, 8 in Goa, 4 in Jharkhand, 115 in Karnataka, 8 in Meghalaya, 116 in Maharashtra, 14 in Manipur, 21 in MP, 26 in Orissa, 78 in Tamil Nadu, 14 in Tripura, 11 in Uttaranchal and 65 in West Bengal.
 
Seats for BDS were not filled in 26 Colleges out of 28 included in the counseling, which included 17 BDS seats in the 3 Government Dental Colleges in Kerala.

These seats in addition to those allotted seats of round 1, which have become vacant due to non-joining of candidates and other reasons, will be offered for allotment in round 2.
