IIT Hyderabad - PhD / MPhil 2012

Kochi, April 18, 2012: Department of Liberal Arts, IIT Hyderabad, has invited applications for admission to PhD & MPhil Courses of Academic Year 2012-13.

Areas of Specialization :
Cultural Studies, Economics, English, Psychology, Sociology, Social Anthropology.

Eligibility Criteria :

* MPhil Programme : 55% in MA / MCom or 60 % in MSc / MTech / MBA (or equivalent CGPA) with adequate background in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Shortlisted candidates must clear a written test conducted by the Department of Liberal Arts.

* PhD Programme : 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in Master degree with UGC/NET score or MPhil degree from reputed Universities or Institutes. Shortlisted candidates must pass an interview conducted by the Department of Liberal Arts.

Procedure for Submitting Application :
The application form, downloadable from www.iith.ac.in, should be sent to the Professor in-Charge, Liberal Arts, along with a bank challan of Rs. 200/- (Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PD candidates) drawn in favour of "Registrar, IIT Hyderabad" payable at Hyderabad. Candidates must write their name and specialization at the back of the challan. The filled-in application form through email attachment and as hard copy must be submitted to the Professor in-Charge along with the scanned copy of challan.

Completed application forms must be sent to Department of Liberal Arts, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, Ordnance Factory Estate, Yeddumailaram- 502205, Andhra Pradesh on or before 30 April 2012.
