MBA at CET : Admission with CMAT score

April 24, 2012: Applications have been invited for admission to the two-year, full time, Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programmes being conducted by the Department of Business Administration, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram for 2012-13. The Programme offers specialisations in Operations, Systems, Marketing, Finance and Human Resources. 

Applicants should be Indian Nationals and should have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kerala or should have passed any other examinations recognized as equivalent, with 50% marks in aggregate for Part III, for B.A, B.Sc and B.Com and 50% in aggregate, for all other Degrees. Those who have obtained 50% in Master’s Degree are also eligible. SC/ST applicants need only a pass in qualifying examination. Applicant should also have a Valid CMAT Score, obtained in the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education.

Applications form and Prospectus can be obtained in person, from the Department of Business Administration by submitting a Demand Draft for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of ‘Department of Business Administration’ CET’, payable at Trivandrum.  Application form and Prospectus can also be obtained by Post, from the Professor and Head, Department of Business Administration, College of Engineering, Engineering College (PO), Thiruvananthapuram-695016, by sending a Demand Draft for Rs.600/-, drawn in favour of ‘Department of Business Administration’ CET’, payable at Trivandrum.

The last date for receipt of completed applications is 30th April, 2012. Filled applications should be accompanied by (i) Copy of CMAT Score Card (ii) Attested copies of nativity and community certificate from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Deputy Thahasildar in case of SC/ST candidate (iii) Copies of certificates and mark lists (iv) Any other documents (to be specified).

Application form and Prospectus can also be downloaded from http://www.cet.ac.in/home.php or from www.mba.cet.ac.in in which case, the filled application is to be submitted along with a DD for Rs.500/- drawn in favour of ‘Department of Business Administration’ CET’, payable at Trivandrum. Short listed candidates will be called for an interview and group discussion. The admission score is calculated based on CMAT score, Group Discussion and Personal Interview with weightages of 80%; 10% and 10% respectively.  There are 40 seats for MBA programme with possibility for increase to 60. Of the total seats, 10% seats are reserved for the SC/ST candidates. 

Fees payable at the time of admission include Tuition fee Rs. 25,000/- (per semester); Admission fee Rs. 1,000/- (one time); Caution deposit Rs. 2000/- (refundable); Miscellaneous fee Rs. 4000/- (per year).

No request for refund of fee will be entertained from those discontinuing the course after the closure of admissions. Admission closes after 30 days from the beginning of the regular classes of first semester. If a student wants to discontinue after the admissions are closed, he/she will be required to pay Rs. 50,000/- or the full fees for all the remaining semesters whichever is less as liquidated damage to get relieved.
