All India Med PG counseling begins

May 3, 2012: The On-line counseling process for allotment of the 50% All India Quota Post-graduate Medical and Dental seats in participating institutions has commenced at the site, http://mcc.nic.in/HomePage.aspx under the supervision of the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) constituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

The process of Counseling is carried out in different stages as listed below. Initial registration is to be done at the link http://mcc.nic.in/MCCReg/CandidateLogin.aspx. Online registration and choice filling can be done from any place of convenience to the candidate, including from home, using internet.
A new user will have to register first. Registration is compulsory to take part in online allotment process. Details such as Stream (Medical/Dental), Roll Number, Application Number, Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of birth etc., as printed in the Admit Card will have to be entered here. Candidate should ensure that he/she fills in exactly same spelling, numbers etc as filled in his/her application form and given in the Admit card. The candidate will also have to enter the security pin and ‘submit’ to complete the process. During the process of online registration, the candidate will get a password. Candidates should keep the password created by them, confidential to them. Password can be changed after creating. Password is very important for participating in online allotment process. Sharing of password can result in its misuse by somebody else, leading to even exclusion of genuine candidate from online allotment process. The confidentiality of the Password is the sole responsibility of the candidate and the candidate should take all care to protect the password. Candidates may also keep changing the Password at frequent intervals.
To login subsequently, candidate will have to enter the Stream, Roll Number and Password. Every time a candidate logs in, he/she must click the LOGOUT button after finishing the work and close all the windows related to the session, for security reasons.
After initial registration, the candidate will get the facility to submit choices for Colleges and subjects. Once choices are filled in, they can be modified before locking it. Indicative seat allotments will be published on 4th May and 7th May, 2012, based on choices registered by candidates up to a time point. This facility will be available till 7th May, 2012. The facility for exercising of choices and locking of choices will be available between 8th May and 10th May, 2012. During the choice locking period, it is necessary to lock the choices. If a candidate does not lock the choice submitted by him/her, it will be automatically locked at 5 pm on the last date of choice locking. Candidates must take the printout of the final locked choices for submission during reporting.
A candidate not registering and filling in choices will not be allotted any seat from left over seats. There is no fresh registration of candidates and choice submission in 2nd round of counseling. Choices of main counseling, submitted before first round allotment, will be considered in the second round of allotment also.
Results of the first round of seat allotment will be published on 13th May, 2012. Reporting by those allotted seats against the first round allotment is to be done between 13th and 22nd May, 2012. Originals of the documents as mentioned in the Prospectus of AIPGMEE-2012 will be required at the time of reporting / joining in allotted Medical/Dental College. Candidates are required to join allotted institution/college and complete the admission formalities in order to exercise option to participate in subsequent round(s).
Second round of online allotment process is up-gradation of choice round. There is no fresh registration of candidates and choice submission in 2nd round of counseling. Choices of main counseling, submitted before first round allotment, will be considered in the second round of allotment also.
Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotment in the 1st round (Group–I), Registered candidates who have secured seat under reserved quota and whose allotted seat of 1st round was cancelled during the document verification on reporting for admission, due to change of category from ‘Reserved’ to ‘Unreserved’ or PH status from ‘Yes’ to ‘No’ who would still be eligible for the round of seat allotment, with changed criteria (Group-II), Candidates who have reported at allotted institute after 1st round of allotment and submitted willingness for up-gradation as ‘Yes’ (Group–III) are all eligible for seat allotment in 2nd round.
Those who have not reported at the allotted Institute after seat allotment in 1st round, those who have reported and withdrawn from counseling at allotted Institute, those who became non-eligible due to change of eligibility criteria and candidates who have not opted for up-gradation, will not be eligible for second round allotment.

All candidates who desire to take part in third round will have to submit fresh choices before third round. Registered candidates who did not get any seat allotment in the 1st or 2nd round of seat allotment (Group I), Registered candidates, who secured seat under reserved quota and whose 2nd round of allotted seat was cancelled during the document verification on reporting for admission, due to change of Category from reserved to Unreserved or PH status from Yes to No, who would still be eligible in the next round of seat allotment, with changed criteria subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions (Group II), Candidates who have reported at allotted institute after 2nd round of allotment and submitted willingness for up-gradation as ‘Yes’ (Group III), Candidates who have given option for participation in round 3rd at the time of 1st and/or 2nd round reporting at allotted institutions (Group IV) are all eligible for 3rd round, subject to submission of fresh choices.
Those who have not reported at allotted Institute after seat allotment in either 1st or 2nd rounds, those who have reported & withdrawn from counseling at the Allotted Institute, those who have become non-eligible due to change of eligibility criteria during document verification, those eligible candidates who do not give fresh choices in 3rd round and those who did not register for online allotment of seat before first round of counseling are not eligible for third round of allotment.
