TANUVAS UG Admission : Apply by June 18

Kochi, May 13, 2012: Applications have been invited from candidates of Tamil Nadu for admission to the following Undergraduate Degree Courses of Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University for the academic year 2012-2013 :

(A) BVSc & AH (5 Years) :
(i) Madras Veterinary College, Chennai – 600 007
(ii) Veterinary College & Research Institute, Namakkal – 637 002.
(iii) * Veterinary College & Research Institute,Tirunelveli – 627 358
(iv) * Veterinary College & Research Institute,Orathanadu, Thanjavur - 613 006.
(* Subject to approval by Veterinary Council of India)

(B) BFSc (4 Years) : Fisheries College & Research Institute, Thoothukudi – 628 008.

(C) BTech Food Technology (4 years) : College of Food and Dairy Technology, Koduvalli, Chennai – 600 052.

(D) BTech Poultry Production Technology (4 years) :
(i)  College of Food and Dairy Technology, Koduvalli, Chennai – 600 052.
(ii) Institute of Poultry Production & Management, Madhavaram Milk Colony, Chennai-600 051.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION :

1. Qualifying Examination and Minimum Marks :
Candidates who are applying for BVSc & AH / BFSc / BTech (Food Processing Technology) / BTech (Poultry Production Technology) degree courses should have passed HSC (10+2) / CBSE / other examinations recognized as equivalent thereto with the marks prescribed at, www.tanuvas.ac.in

The maximum number of attempts made in passing the qualifying examination is limited to three for SC/ST candidates and two for others. The improvement marks in HSC Examination of any year will not be considered for admission.

2. Age Limit :
Candidates should not have completed the age indicated below as on 01.07.2012 :
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (SC / ST) : No age limit
Others : 21 Years
No relaxation of age limit is permissible on any grounds.

II. MODE OF SELECTION :
Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the HSC / equivalent examination as per the Government Orders.

III. APPLICATION FORMS :
Application forms will be issued on all working days from 14-05-2012 to 15-06-2012 as follows :
14-05-2012 to 14-06-2012 : Between 10.00 am and 5.45 pm
15-06-2012 : Between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm

Separate application form should be used for BVSc & AH, BFSc, BTech (Food Processing Technology) and BTech (Poultry Production Technology) degree courses.

Request letter for application forms should contain the name of the candidate and the course for which the application (BVSc & AH / BFSc / BTech - Food Processing Technology / BTech - Poultry Production Technology) is required. Application form can be had in person or by post from any one of the following colleges on a written request along with a Demand Draft for Rs.600/- (Rs.300/- for SC/ST) towards the cost of application forms including registration, drawn in favour of The Finance Officer, TANUVAS, Chennai - 600051", payable at Chennai.
