BTech / BSc Programmes at IMU, Chennai

Kochi, May 14, 2012: Applications have been invited by Indian Maritime University, Chennai for admission to following courses of August 2012 session:

1. BTech Marine Engineering
2. BSc Ship Building & Repair
3. Three Year BSc (Nautical Science)

(1) BTech Marine Engineering :
Entry Requirements : A pass in 10+ 2 or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics group, and at least 50% in English at 10th or 12th standard.

Age :
17 to 25 years as on August 2012.

(2) BSc Ship Building & Repair :
Entry Requirements : A pass in 10+2 or its equivalent examination with minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and mathematics group, and at least 50% in English at 10th or 12th Standard.

Age :
17 to 25 years as on August 2012.

(3) THREE YEAR BSc (Nautical Science) :
Entry Requirement : Pass in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination from a recognized Board / University with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and English as a separate subject with a PCM average of not less than 60% and with minimum 50% marks in English language at either 10th or 12th standard exam conducted by a recognized board.

Age Limit :
Should not be more than 25 years as on 1 August, 2012. The age limit is relaxable by 2 years in case of female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

HOW TO APPLY :
1. Download the application form and payment challan from www.imu.tn.nic.in
Remit Rs.800/- (Rs.450/- for SC/ST candidates) in any Branch of State Bank of India or Indian Bank or Axis Bank using the Account number given in the challan.
2. The application form complete in all respects along with the copy of the payment challan and journal number (journal number will be filled by bank) should be send to "The Controller of Examinations, Indian Maritime University, East Coast Road Uthandi, Chennai-600 119" so as to reach on or before 31st May 2012.

SC/ST candidates who remit Rs.450/- are required to produce a copy of the Caste Certificate along with application.

* Last Date for receipt of filled-in applications : 31.05.2012
* Date of Common Entrance Test : 17.06.2012 (2.00 pm-5.00 pm)
* Declaration of Results : 27.06.2012 (Tentative)
* Dates for Counseling : 23,24 July, 2012(Tentative)
* Commencement of classes : 6 August, 2012
