IIM Calcutta ensures 100 pc placement Kolkata, May 21, 2012: All the 37 students of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, (IIMC) belonging to the fifth batch of PGPEX, who took part in placement process, have been successfully placed in diversified jobs with the highest and average annual salary of Rs 28 lakh and Rs 20.40 lakh respectively.
Informing this, IIMC sources here today informed that among the sectors in which students got offers were Consulting, Operations, IT-Consulting, Telecom, Business Consulting, Banking, Healthcare and Product Management. They said, the maximum number of students got placement in IT- Consulting and Telecom sectors (18), followed by those in Product Management, Business Development, Sales and Marketing and in General Management.
Altogether 51 companies took part in the placement programme. Among those were Bain Consulting, McKinsey IT, Keane Consulting, Microsoft, Google, Cognizant Business Consulting, Infosys, Amazon, iNautix, Carestream, Corporate Executive Board, Accenture, HCL Technologies, Take Solutions, Tech Mahindra, Dr. Reddy's Lab and Wipro BPO. Several first time recruiters also took part in the process. They included Sears IT, Medtronic, Keane Consulting, CGN Consulting, Fi-Tek, Microsoft, Accenture BPO and Wipro BPO. The highest number of offers (10) was made by Tech Mahindra and the highest salary offer came from Take Solutions, the sources infomed.
IIMC, launched the one year full time residential programme for Executives(PGPEX) in 2006. On successful completion of the programme, participants are awarded a diploma titled "Post-graduate Diploma in Management for Executives" (PGPEX). It provides a unique blend of theoretical knowledge, innovative problem solving skills, ethics and human values orientation, case discussions, experience sharing and networking opportunities for the ambitious middle and senior level executives to be prepared for leadership positions in Indian and global organisations.
