UG NRI admission at CMC, Ludhiana

Kochi, June 8, 2012: Christian Medical College, Ludhiana has invited applications for admission to MBBS, BDS ,BSc Nursing and BPT courses through NRI category. Admission will be on the basis of merit obtained in the Admission Written Test (UG – AWT NRI- 2012) conducted by Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR UG AWT NRI 2012:
Age requirements : Applicants must be at least 17 years of age on 31st December 2012 (the date of birth being shown on the Matriculation or Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent certificate). Applicants born after 31st December 1995 are not eligible to apply for admission to Undergraduate courses starting in July / August 2012.

NON-RESIDENT INDIAN (NRI) :
An Indian Citizen who stays abroad for employment / carrying on business, to pursue a vocation outside India or under circumstances indicating an intention for an uncertain duration of stay abroad is a non-resident. (Persons posted in U.N. organizations and officials deputed abroad by Central / State Governments and Public Sector undertakings on temporary assignments are also treated as non-residents). Non-resident foreign citizens of Indian Origin are treated on par with non-resident Indian citizens (NRIs) for the purpose of certain facilities.

Academic requirements : A candidate for admission to MBBS and BDS courses must have obtained not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together at the qualifying examination (as per MCI Regulations 1997). All candidates applying in NRI category must also ensure that they have scored 50% marks in English and 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the class equivalent to 10+2 of the Indian Boards.

For admission to BSc Nursing & BPT courses, a candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in 10+2 examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, backward classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination will be 40%. For candidates applying from boards outside India, the marks sheets have to be forwarded to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences for verification and subsequent issuance of an eligibility certificate.

UG AWT NRI 2012 (Under-graduate Admission Written Test for NRI Applicants-2012) :
A common undergraduate admission written test for NRI (UG-AWT-NRI 2012) will be held for UG courses under NRI category. UG-AWT NRI 2012 will be held on 9 July, 2012 from 12 pm to 2 pm. The candidates should report to the Examination Centre by 11:30 am.

1. Application process for NRI UG AWT 2012 is ONLINE only.

On-Line Application: Applications can be submitted on-line at www.cmcludhiana.in or www.cmcludhiana.org till 30-06-2012. The Prospectus can be downloaded from the available link. The application form must be filled and submitted online (mandatory). Online application form will be available till 30 June, 2012.

Application fee is Rs. 25,000/- (inclusive of prospectus fee) for appearing in the UG AWT-NRI 2012. The fee must be paid as crossed demand draft drawn in favour of "Christian Medical College Ludhiana Society”, payable at LUDHIANA. The Demand draft should be attached to the form. Application fee can also be paid to CMC account No. 13720200003943 with The Federal Bank (CMC Extension Counter, Ludhiana) directly.

Completed application with enclosures should be sent to The Registrar, Christian Medical College Ludhiana-141008, Punjab, so as to reach on or before 07-07-2012.
