GO on SF med college admission

Rajendran Puthiyedath

Kochi, June 18,2012: Orders have been issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department for the allotment of 50 pc seats of 11 Medical Colleges coming under the Kerala Private Medical College Management Association (KPMCMA).

Principal Secretary to the Government Rajeev Sadanandan who has signed the order dated June 15, admits that the KPMCMA and Government are yet to finalise an agreement for admission to these colleges “due to some demands raised by the Association regarding allocation of seats under management quota.”

The order, however, notes that the " mode of admission and fee structure proposed to the merit seats is not under dispute. The Commissioner of Entrance Examination has intimated that unless orders are issued regarding allocation of seats under merit quota in the self-financing medical colleges, the allotment will get further delayed to seats in government medical colleges and government merit seats in private medical colleges,” says the GO.

“In the circumstances, orders are issued regarding allocation of merit seats in the following (11) self-financing medical colleges and sanction is accorded to the CEE for including the colleges for allotment of students for admission to MBBS course 2012-13 subject to the terms and conditions specified below,” the GO says. It also details the terms and conditions regarding reservation for communities, fees and other details of admission.

When asked about when will the option registration begin the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations BS Mavoji told Mathrubhumi Education Online that everything is not over. We have to get the orders on MBBS of CAPE and Pariyaram colleges and also on Siddha, Ayurveda, Homoeo to begin the allotment process. We have enough time. no problem, said the CEE.
