NTPC inks MoU with IIT for MTech programme
New Delhi, June 20, 2012: State-owned NTPC Ltd today announced that it has signed an MoU with IIT Delhi to encourage its employees acquire higher qualification, develop research skills and enable them accomplish scientific studies for the development in energy sector.
With this, NTPC plans to give prestigious MTech programme in selected domains to two more batches of 10 engineers each. Power Management Institute, the apex learning centre of NTPC has been playing a pivotal role in successful conduct of M Tech course at IIT Delhi.
Since its launch in 1998, 255 NTPC engineers have already been awarded MTech from IIT Delhi through this initiative. The MoU was signed yesterday by Mr. S.P. Singh, Director (HR), NTPC and Prof.R.K. Shevgaonkar, Director, IIT Delhi.
NTPC, the largest power utility of the country, is currently working on over 14,000 mw new capacity and plans to become 128,000 mw plus company by 2032. |
