Admission at KVASU, Kerala
Kochi, July 8, 2012: The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Mannuthy, Trichur, Kerala has invited applications for admission to the following programmes of Academic Year 2012-13 in the constituent colleges of the University:
PhD programme (CVAS, Mannuthy) in the following Disciplines:

Eligibility:
MVSc Programme - Bachelors degree in Veterinary and Animal Sciences recognized by the University with an OGPA of 6.0/10 or equivalent OGPA / equivalent percentage of 50% marks in traditional system. For SC / ST candidates the OGPA shall be 5.5/10 or equivalent
PhD Programme - Masters Degree in the respective/related subject recognized by the University with an OGPA of 7.5/10 or equivalent OGPA / equivalent percentage of marks at Masters Degree level. For SC / ST candidates the OGPA shall be 7.0/10 or equivalent.

KVASU Assistantship / Scholarship:
A fixed number of candidates admitted for Master’s and PhD degree programmes are eligible for Assistantship. The Assistantship for Master’s programme is at the rate of Rs. 10,000/- per month and for PhD at the rate of Rs. 20,000/- per month.
All the students admitted for Master’s and PhD programmes are eligible to get a scholarship amount of Rs. 3000/- and Rs. 5000/- per month, respectively. Candidates who are awarded any other fellowship / scholarship will not be eligible for the above benefits. The candidates on deputation are also not eligible for these benefits. The MVSc candidates who secure Assistantship shall assist in the conduct of undergraduate practical’s and the PhD. candidates shall attend teaching / lab work / research work of the Department as determined by the Head of the Department in consultation with the Dean.
How to Apply:
Application forms and prospectus for admission to the above PG programmes are available in the website www.kvasu.ac.in.
The downloaded application should be printed on one side of A4 size paper. The filled in application forms may be submitted along with application fee as detailed below to the Registrar, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Camp Office, Mannuthy, Thrissur, Kerala - 680 651 so as to reach on or before last date mentioned below.
Masters Degree programme:
General category - Rs.1000
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (native of Kerala only) Rs.500
PhD programme:
General category - Rs.1250
Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (native of Kerala only) - Rs.750
The application fee shall be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, payable at the State Bank of Travancore - Ollukara, Thrissur.
Selection:
For Master’s and PhD degree programmes there will be separate selection examinations.
Masters - Common entrance examination of 1hr duration consisting of multiple choice questions.
PhD - Entrance examination of 1½ h duration consisting of a common paper of objective General Knowledge and an objective paper of the relevant discipline.
Selection shall be done on the basis of the OGPA in the qualifying exam, score in the entrance exam and interview. Candidates will be considered for admission only if they secure a minimum of 40% marks in the entrance examination. The minimum is 30% for SC / ST candidates.
