M.G.Uty publishes all Degree Results
Kottayam, July 10, 2012: Mahatma Gandhi University today published the results of all the Degree Programmes of the first batch of students in the Choice Based Credit-Semester System (CBCSS) at the undergraduate level. The results cover all the 107 undergraduate programmes(B.A./ B.Sc./B.Com/ BCA/BBA etc) in the affiliated Arts and Science colleges consisting of Government/Aided/Unaided sector.
Nearly 27,000 students were enrolled in the first batch (2009-2012) covering six semesters in three year programmes under the revised curriculum for Credit-Semester and Grading. This is for the first time in the history of the University that the results of all undergraduate programmes consisting of Model-I (traditional), Model-II (Vocational) and Model-III (New Generation) streams are published simultaneously.
The sixth semester examinations started on April 2nd and the practical examinations were over by the last week of April. The valuation of nearly 1,66,000 answer scripts of Sixth semester were carried out in 9 Zonal Centralised Valuation Camps in which about 50 University officials headed by a Camp Officer in each camp, 2,000 teachers from affiliated colleges worked as Chairperson / Chief and Additional Examiners participated in the valuation process of the answer scripts.
The modernization of the examination branch consequent on the introduction of CBCSS paved the way for timely conduct and publication of results. The on-line submission of grades from colleges and 9 Zonal Valuation camps accelerated the computerization of the CBCSS section. The use of 24 pages stitched Bar coded answer scripts lessened the problems associated with manual coding and decoding apart from savings in time and manpower. Malpractices in Examinations were also curbed to a large extent by the use of the stitched Bar coded Answer books.
