BEd Admission at UTEC, Calicut Uty
Kochi, July 21, 2012: Online applications are invited by University of Calicut for admission to the B.Ed. course (under self –financing scheme) in the Calicut University Teacher Education Centres, at Vatakara, Chakkittapara, Calicut, Kaniyambetta, Sulthan Bathery, Manjeri, Malappuram, Koduvayur (Palakkad), Aranattukara (Thrissur), Valapad and Nattika, for the year 2012-13, in the following optional subjects.
I. Vatakara

Eligibility:
I. For optional except Commerce and Computer Science Education:
i) BA / BSc Degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto under 10+2+3 pattern with minimum 50% marks in Part III or Master’s Degree with minimum 50% marks. However, BA/B.Com degree holders under Liberalized Scheme of this University are eligible to apply, provided they are otherwise eligible.
ii) SC / ST candidates, natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under Teacher Quota need only a pass in the Degree examination.
iii) Relaxation of 5% marks for OEC and 3% for OBC candidates will be allowed from the minimum required marks ie, OEC candidates need only 45% and OBC candidates 47% of marks.
II. For Commerce optional:
i) Candidates should have passed MCom Degree of the University of Calicut or a degree recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 50% marks.
ii) SC / ST candidates, natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under Teacher Quota need a mere pass in the qualifying examination.
iii) Relaxation of 5% marks for OEC and 3% for OBC candidates will be allowed from the minimum required marks i.e. OEC candidates need 45% and OBC candidates 47% of marks.
III. For Computer Science Education optional:
i) Candidates should have passed MCA / MSc Computer Science / MSc Electronics of the University of Calicut or a Degree recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 50% marks.
ii) SC / ST candidates, natives of Lakshadweep and applicants under teacher quota need a mere pass in the qualifying examination.
iii) Relaxation of 5% marks for OEC and 3% for OBC candidates will be allowed from the minimum required marks i.e. OEC candidates need 45% and OBC candidates 47% of marks
General Instructions
1. Candidates are directed to register their application through online only after reading the detailed instruction given in the Calicut University official website (www.universityofcalicut.info).
2. Candidates are advised to register only one application for considering their admission in any Teacher Education Centres under this University.
3. The candidates should forward a copy of the printout of filled in application along with:
self-attested copies of SSLC,
BA / BSc Mark list / PG Mark list for Commerce & Computer Science.
Qualifying Degree Certificate / Provisional Certificate.
Community / Nativity Certificate.
TC and Conduct Certificate.
4. A candidate should remit Rs.100/- towards the cost of application (Rs.50/- in the case of SC / ST) in favour of Finance Officer, University of Calicut and should forward the original chalan along with printout application. The fee can be remitted at:
i) Calicut University Fee Counter at Tagore Niketan.
ii) Treasuries in Malappuram District 8443 - 00 - 106 - PD.
iii) Other Treasuries in Kerala: 8658 - 00 - 102 - 96 (02) CUS.
iv) Friends Janasevanakendram within the territorial jurisdiction of University of Calicut.
v) University Information Centres.
5. Candidates should enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope worth Rs.5/- along with the application.
6. The completed application should be addressed to Prof. (Dr.) P. Kelu, Chief Co-ordinator, University Teacher Education Centres, Department of Education, University of Calicut, Calicut University (P.O), Malappuram –673635 (Pin) on or before 24th August 2012.
