Postings : HC notice to Uty, govt Madurai, Aug 2,2012: Madras High Court today ordered notice to Alagappa University and Secretary of Higher Education Department on a petition seeking to stay a notification of the University calling for application to fill up posts of Associate Professors, Professors, Principal and Directors. Admitting a petition filed by the Madras University Most Backward Class Staff Welfare Association Secretary K Parimurgan, Justice K Venkataraman said "any appointment made is subject to the result of the writ petition". The petitioner submitted that the notification had been issued without following government orders issued on various dates. The Notification was illegal as the government had said that that it would issue orders on recruitments, qualifications, selection committee and guidelines on selection procedures.Even before the government issued its order the University had called for applications to fill up the posts. It was mandatory that the university should fill the vacancy through the selection committee and application scrutinizing committee for verifying eligibility of the applicants. Both the committees should be approved by the syndicate of the respective university, the petititoner said. |
