National Standard Examinations by IAPT

Kochi, August 20, 2012: National Standard Examinations (NSEP in Physics, NSEC in Chemistry, NSEB in Biology, NSEA in Astronomy and NSEJS in Junior Science) are nationwide examinations leading towards International Olympiads in the respective subjects and organized by IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers). Subjects are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and Junior Science.

Eligibility:
NSEP: Indian Students born on or after 1st July 1993 AND studying in std XII or lower as on 30th Nov. 2012
NSEC: Indian Students born on or after 1st July 1993 AND studying in std XII or lower as on 30th Nov. 2012
NSEB: Indian Students born on or after 1st July 1993 AND studying in std XII or lower as on 30th Nov. 2012
NSEA: Indian Students born on or after 1st July 1994 AND studying in std XII or lower as on 30th Nov. 2012
NSEJS: Indian Students born on or after 1st January 1998 AND studying in std X or lower as on 30th Nov. 2012

Enrollment of students are to be done by The Principal (or Physics or Science  Teacher) of your College / Jr. College / High School. Rs 75/= per student per subject (per examination) to be paid in cash to the centre in charge.
Last date for enrollment is September 15, 2012.
Probable dates of INOs: 28th and 29th January 2013
Expected date of results of INOs : 1st March 2013
OCSCs : April - June 2013

Examination Schedule:
NSEP
Saturday, 24th November 2012, 0930 to 1130 Hrs

NSEC
Saturday, 24th November 2012, 1230 to 1430 Hrs

NSEB
Saturday, 24th November 2012, 1500 to 1700 Hrs

NSEA
Saturday, 24th November 2012, 1500 to 1700 Hrs

NSEJS
Saturday, 24th November 2012, 1500 to 1700 Hrs

Certificates / Awards

i) In each subject, certificates are given to ‘top 10%’ students of every centre.
ii) Merit Certificates are awarded to 'top 1%’ students in each state, in each subject.
iii) Special Merit Certificates and a prize (book) will be awarded to National top 1% students in each subject.
iv) Gold Medals are awarded to the Top 35 students from INPhO, INChO and INBO examinations
