Central Sector Scholarship for CBSE students

August 27, 2012 : Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited applications for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University students from CBSE stream for 2012.

Applicant should be an Indian national and should have passed the Senior School Certificate Examination 2012 conducted by CBSE, securing the stipulated minimum total aggregate marks, in first five subjects, as per the stream opted by the applicant for CBSE. The minimum stipulated marks for all categories (SC/ST/OBC/UR) from Science, Commerce and Other streams are 418, 396 and 332 respectively.

Applicant should be pursuing higher studies and should have taken admission in an Under Graduate, Regular course in a recognized Educational Institution in India. Those doing courses under Correspondence or Distance mode are not eligible to apply for the Scholarship. Applicant should not be availing any other scholarship. The total annual Income of parents of the applicant from all sources should not exceed Rs 4.5 lakhs. Applicant should not belong to Creamy layer as defined by DoP&T from time to time.

The value of the Scholarship for Graduation studies is Rs.1000/- per month for three years, to be disbursed in lump of Rs.10, 000/- at end of each academic year. If the Scholar counties with Post Graduation, other than a Professional course, the scholar will receive an amount of  Rs 2000/- per month for two years, after Graduation, to be disbursed as lump sum amount of Rs.20,000/- at end of each academic year. If the course is a Professional Course, the scholarship for the first three years would be Rs.1000/- per month subject to a maximum of Rs.10000/- per year and Rs. 2000/- per month for two years for 4th and 5th years of the Professional Course.

Scholarships will be distributed amongst pass out of the Science, Commerce and Humanities stream in ratio of 3:2:1. Reservation to SC, ST, OBC and PH will be as per guidelines of the Government of India.

The Scholarship amount will be deposited only in the Bank Account of the candidate by ECS (Electronic Clearing System) mode. So applicants have to open a Bank Account in his/her name in a branch of any Scheduled Nationalized/Commercial Bank which has ECS facility and have to provide their Bank Account number, Bank Name, detailed address of the Bank and the correct RTGS/NEFT branch code of the Bank during the submission of application.

For renewal of Scholarship, applicant has to apply on separate renewal form. Applicant should have passed in all the subjects in semester/annual examinations with not less than 60 % marks in the aggregate of 2 semester or annual examinations and should have secured 75 % attendance, maintained good discipline and should not have involved in ragging activities etc. Scholarship once cancelled will not be revived under any circumstances. Application for CSSS-2012 has to be submitted online, at http://122.180.127.138/kamal/dotnet/csss2012/rmenu.aspx, latest by 31st October, 2012.

On submission of the details asked, application form and joining report will be generated online. They have to be printed on A4 size paper. The Joining report has to be got verified from the Head of the Institution where the applicant is pursuing the course. Income affidavit has to be obtained by the applicant on a Non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/-, duly sworn in before Notary Public/First class Executive Magistrate/Revenue Officer as per the prescribed format.

The Online generated Application Form duly signed, along with (i) Joining report Attested by Head of Institution (ii) Copy of Mark sheet of Senior School Certificate Exam-2012 (iii) Copy of the Caste Certificate, if applicable (iv) Income Affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/- in original (with online registration number noted on its top in items (ii), (iii) and (iv)) (v) Income Tax Returns/Form-16 of both the Parents (of the year ending Mar 2010, issued by the employer attached along with the affidavit wherever applicable) (vi) a cancelled cheque from the Pass Book issued by the Bank should reach ‘Section Officer (Scholarship), 7th floor, CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi- 110092’, by ordinary post with the words ‘Online CSSS-2012’ super-scribed on the top left of the cover within the stipulated date. Applicant may keep a photocopy of complete application form with them for future reference.

Those who have passed Class- XII Exam from CBSE prior to 2012 are not eligible to apply. Application in respect of those who have filled in the details online but have not submitted the signed forms along with Joining report and Income affidavit before due date will be rejected. Applicant is entitled to receive only one scholarship at a time. If the applicant is in receipt of any scholarship from any other scheme he/she has to refund that scholarship, failing which action will be taken as per rules. The information regarding receipt of application for scholarship and its details will be displayed / updated on website from time to time. Any change in address and Bank Details must be immediately reported to ‘Section Officer (Scholarship), 7th floor, CBSE, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110092’, along with the Online Registration No., Name and Roll No., of the applicant and copy of the form submitted.
