MS & Dip Admission at KVASU
Kochi, September 20, 2012: The Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Lakkidi, Wayanadu, Kerala has invited applications for admission to the following programmes of Academic Year 2012-13.
Courses Offered:
a. MS courses:
i. Biostatistics
ii. Quality Systems in Dairy Processing
iii. Wildlife Studies
iv. Applied Biochemistry
v. Applied Microbiology
b. Diploma courses:
i. Poultry Production
ii. Laboratory Techniques
Eligibility:
Master of Science in Biostatistics: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Engineering / Science with Mathematics as optional subject at higher secondary level
Master of Science in Quality Systems in Dairy Processing: BTech (Dairy / Food Technology) / Graduation in Microbiology / Chemistry / Food Science / Biology from a recognized University will be eligible for the programme.
Master of Science in Wildlife Studies: Bachelor’s Degree in Biosciences (Botany, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Forestry etc.)
Master of Science in Applied Biochemistry: Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry / Biology / Chemistry / Zoology / Botany / Biotechnology / Life Science / Dairy science from a recognised University.
Master of Science in Applied Microbiology: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology / Zoology / Botany / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Veterinary Science / Agriculture and other disciplines as per notification.
Diploma in Poultry Production: Pass in Plus Two or VHSE with Biology as one subject
Diploma in Laboratory Techniques: Pass in Plus Two or VHSE with Biology as one of the subject

Application forms and prospectus for admission to the above mentioned programmes are available in the website link:

The downloaded application should be printed on one side of A4 size paper. The filled in application forms may be submitted along with application fee as detailed below to the Registrar, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Camp Office, Mannuthy, Thrissur, Kerala - 680 651 so as to reach on or before 15.10.2012 at 3.00 pm.
Application cum Processing fee (Rs.):
Master of Science General Category: 1000 SC/ST Category: 500
Diploma General Category: 500 SC/ST Categories: 250
The application fee shall be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, payable at the State Bank of Travancore - Ollukara, Thrissur.
Documents to be attached with Application Forms:
i. True copy of the relevant page of the SSLC or equivalent certificate to prove the date of birth
ii. Attested copies of mark lists of qualifying examination.
iii. Certificates relating to nativity and community in the body of the application form.
iv. Certificate in support of any reservation claimed as specified in the prospectus / application form.
v. Recent photograph of the candidate to be affixed in the application form duly attested.
vi. Income certificate obtained from Tahsildar / Village Officer in the case of Other Backward Communities.
vii. A recent conduct certificate, obtained within 6 months.
viii. Demand Draft for the application fee.
ix. One self-addressed stamped envelope (worth Rs. 10/-) of size 23 cm x 10 cm.
Selection Process
MS courses: On the basis of Admission Test (AT) conducted and rank list prepared by KVASU. Candidates will be considered for admission only if they secure a minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC / ST candidates) in the admission test.
Diploma Programmes: Selection will be on the basis of interview and rank list prepared by KVASU. However, the selection of candidates for certificate course on capacity building in livestock technology enterprises would be based on written test and interview.
KVASU Assistantship for MS programmes: KVASU Assistantship of Rs. 5000/- per month will be awarded to two students from each MS programme, based on their rank list and academic merits.
