NEET - Supreme Court defers verdict

New Delhi, Oct 29 2012:  The decision on much debated NEET was put off by Supreme Court today.  The court will hear the case on Monday, Nov 5.

Earlier, several institutions and private bodies from different states had filed petitions against NEET and had acquired interim stay against Medical Council of India's (MCI) move to implement the new regulation.

The plea came before SC as MCI moved court to avoid complexicity of proceedings at various High Courts and inordinate time lag arising out of it.  The Supreme Court's decision will decide the future of National Eligibility & Entrance Test (NEET)  meant for under graduate and post-graduate medical courses from 2013-14.
