Ph.D Jan 2013 at IDRBT, Hyderabad

Kochi, Nov 13 2012:  Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), Hyderabad has invited applications for its full-time Ph.D Programme in Computer Science and Information Technology [with focus on Banking Technology] for the session starting in January 2013.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree in any Engineering / Technology; OR M.Phil in Mathematics or Statistics or Electronics; OR B.E. / B.Tech OR Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics / Information Systems / Internet Technology / Geo-Informatics / Bio-Informatics with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the above stated qualifications (a relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC/ST candidates).

All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities/ institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.

SPECIALISATION

Candidates should have a keen interest to carry out research in one of the following areas of Banking Technology: - Information Technology in Banking - Electronic Payment and Settlement Systems - Financial Networks and Applications - Security Technologies for the Financial Sector - Financial Information Systems & Business Intelligence - Financial Inclusion Technologies - Core Banking System - Alternate Delivery Channels - Open Source Technologies - Information Security - Closely Related Areas

RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The selected Research Scholars would be paid a monthly stipend of Rs. 14,000/- per month during the first and second year and Rs.15,000/- per month during the subsequent years. The fellowship is normally tenable for three (3) years.

SELECTION PROCESS

The Selection Process for admission to the Ph.D programme would consist of: (i) A Written Examination on January 06, 2013 (Sunday) (ii) Personal Interview (only for the candidates qualifying the written examination) on January 07, 2013 (Monday)

Candidates belonging to SC/ST category should submit along with the application a scanned copy of the certificate of their caste / tribe from a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar / Mandal Revenue Officer. Further, SC/ST candidates belonging to the state of Andhra Pradesh should submit an Integrated Community Certificate issued by the Competent Revenue Authority.
