Dental NEET PG on Jan 13 : Apply now

Kochi, Nov 15,2012: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will conduct a National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-2013) for admission to Ministry of Health & FW/DCI recognized/approved/permitted seats of Dental Colleges for various postgraduate courses (MDS/PG Diploma). The entrance examination will be governed by the rules and regulations specified by the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, New Delhi. The examination will be conducted at various centers on Sunday, the 13th January, 2013 from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M.

NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY-CUM-ENTRANCE TEST

(a) The syllabus for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for admission to the MDS courses shall be that of BDS standard and shall cover all the subjects/syllabus taught during the BDS course as prescribed in the DCI Revised BDS Course Regulations, 2007 as amended from time to time. There will be only one paper of 3 hours duration (10.00 A.M. to 01.00 P.M.) containing 200 MCQs consisting of Basic Sciences, Para-Clinical and Clinical subjects.

(b) The questions will be single answer objective type. Each answer with correct answer shall be awarded four marks. One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. Zero mark will be given for the questions not answered. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect answer and will be negatively marked.

The scheme for selection of candidates for admission to postgraduate Dental courses for admission to MDS Courses on all-India basis shall be applicable to all Dental Colleges/Institutions throughout the country and no Dental College/Institution shall hereafter conduct competitive entrance examination of its own for these seats on all-India basis, including the States of Jammu & Kashmir and Andhra Pradesh. However, the students having passed their BDS examination from any Institution in these two States shall not be eligible to participate in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for selection of candidates against All India Quota seats.

COURSES AND ELIGIBILITY:
1. MDS COURSES
(i). DURATION OF THE COURSE: 3 years (See foot-note below Appendix – XI).
(ii). ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The candidate must be an Indian National / Person of Indian Origin / Overseas Citizen of India Card holders possessing BDS degree from a Dental College recognised by the Government of India under the Dentists Act, 1948 and who has obtained provisional or permanent registration from any of the State Dental Councils after passing the final BDS examination and has completed one year (12 months) Compulsory Rotating Internship in an approved/recognised Dental College shall be eligible.

A candidate who, after passing the final qualifying examination (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GOI/DCI), is undergoing 12- month compulsory rotating internship/practical training and is likely to complete the same by 31ST March 2013 can take up this examination, but he/she shall not be eligible for admission unless he/she has completed the compulsory rotating internship and obtained provisional or permanent registration on or before 31ST March 2013 or the candidate produces a certificate from the head of Institution that he/she will be completing internship by 31ST March 2013.

2. PG DIPLOMA COURSES
(i). DURATION OF THE COURSE : 2 years.
(ii). ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

APPLICATION: A candidate can submit application only through On-Line mode by filling the online application form which will be available from 14.11.2012 on website www.aiimsexams.org .

Application Fee: General/OBC Category: Rs.1000/- (SC/ST Category Rs. 800/-) + Transaction charges as applicable. Payment through computer generated Challan Form in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI) or can pay online through Credit Card / Debit Card.

Applicants can pay the registration fee by any of the two modes of payments available as
follows:-
1. Pay through SBI Bank Challan : Where fee is deposited through SBI challan the payment would be updated after three working days in candidate’s MyPage. In case of Payment through SBI challan the candidates who have generated their Challan on closing date of online application, can deposit the fee on next day in SBI through generated challan.

2. Pay Online through Debit Card / Credit Card : Applicant can pay immediately through Debit Card / Credit Card Where fee is paid online, payment would be reflected immediately in candidate’s MyPage.

Application form/Registration Slip complete in all respects should be submitted online and NOT to be sent to Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110 608.
