New Delhi, Nov 28,2012 : The University of Sydney has entered into agreements with JNU and a private university here to facilitate collaboration between students in the field of teaching, training and research. "The offshore university is marking the Australia-India year of friendship by sending a high-level academic delegation to India. It has signed two separate MoU with the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and with the O P Jindal Global University (JGU)," a statement by the Haryana-based JGU university said.
Under the MoU signed with JGU, Sydney Law School and Jindal Global Law School will undertake student and faculty exchanges, joint conferences and joint research programmes. Welcoming the development, Professor John Hearn, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International) of the University of Sydney said that the MoU will assist the universities in understanding national priorities.
"The law schools of O P Jindal and Sydney will explore research and student exchange programs, which will help us in approaches to international challenges and in understanding our national priorities," he said. Professor C Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, JGU said students as well as the faculty members stand to gain immensely from the joint program instituted between the two universities. "We are delighted at the prospect of meaningful learning, teaching, and research collaborations across the whole intellectual spectrum of both universities," he said.
