CET 2013 at RIST, Meghalaya
Kochi, January 30, 2013: Applications have been invited by Regional Institute of Science & Technology, Meghalaya for ERDF Common Entrance Test (CET) to be conducted by ERD Foundation, Guwahati at different Test centers of North Eastern Region leading to the admission for following Engg. Courses of Year 2013:
1. BTech Computer Sc. & Engineering (CSE) 2. BTech Information Technology (IT) 3. BTech Electronics & Commun. Engineering (ECE) 4. BTech Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) 5. BTech Civil Engineering (CE) 6. BTech Mechanical Engineering (ME) Eligibility: HS (10+2) Science or equivalent examination with Physics & Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology having passed in each of the subjects with 45% marks in the above subjects taken together(40% marks for SC / ST / OBC / Minority)
Criteria for Selection: BTech Programme:
(i) Rank in ERDF CET OR (ii) Vaild AIEEE Score (up to 15% of total Intake) OR (iii) Nomination by the concerned Directorate of Technical & Higher Education
Special Allocation: Of the total intake including all branches 10% seats are reserved for the State of Meghalaya and nomination by the respective directorate shall be considered for other NE States subject to the admission policy of ERD Foundation 33% seats shall be accommodated for girls including all branches. 25% seats will be available to students from different Minorities / tribal and other backward communities subject to the fulfillment of admission policy of ERDF.
Lateral Entry: Candidates who have passed the final Diploma examination in a branch of study (as per AICTE guideline) conducted by any State Board of Technical Education in respective branch of Engineering / Technology (after 10+2). Securing a minimum of 50% marks (45% for Reserved Category) in aggregate will be eligible for admission into the 3rd semester of BTech course.
The eligible candidates are required to submit the duly filled application forms in Admission Offices. Such candidates need not appear in the entrance test. Their merit list will be prepared based on the total marks obtained by them in the diploma examination. Those who are appearing for the final year Diploma will be eligible to apply subject to the condition that they will produce the mark Sheet at the time of admission.
Test Centre: The entrance examination is held in 15 different locations of North-East. They are: Assam: Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur, Tezpur, Nagoan, Barpeta, Bongaigoan, Dhubri, Silchar Meghalaya: Shillong Nagaland: Dimapur Manipur: Imphal Mizoram: Aizwal Arunachal Pradesh: Itanagar

General Admission: The Prospectus & Registration form can be obtained from RIST campus office / City Office at Dispur or any of the Distribution Centres given in the link: http://www.rist.ac.in/Uploads/File/annexure-1.pdf on payment of Rs 500/- or form can also be downloaded from the website http://www.rist.ac.in and submitted along with a demand draft of Rs 500/- in favour of 'Regional Institute of Science & Technology' payable at 'SBI Khanapara'. Filled-in applications can be submitted at RIST, Techno City, Killing Road, 9th Mile, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya-793101
Lateral Entry: The Prospectus & Registration form can be obtained from RIST campus office / City Office at Dispur on payment of Rs: 1000/- or form can be downloaded from the website by remitting a demand draft of Rs1000/- in favour of “Regional Institute of Science & Technology” payable at “SBI Khanapara” which shall be submitted along with the duly filled in Application Form.
